Description
Item/Description: Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Cut Crystal Vanity Set of Two. Turn of the Century silver-lidded jars. Repousse, deeply carved image of beautiful maiden with flowing hair adorned with flowers. Cut lead crystal jars. Hallmarked on large lid (partially visible): PAT. AUG. 12. 0 /STERLING.
Material: Sterling Silver, Crystal.
Dimensions: Large: mouth 2 1/2" across; lid 3" across; total height approximately 4. Small: mouth 1 1/2" across; lid 1 3/4"across; total height approximately 2". Lids weigh 39.9 grams.
Condition: Good. Several dents along rim of large jar lid. Holes on bridge of nose, edges of flowers in larger lid. Holes in hair, nose and edges of flowers of smaller lid. Remnants of old silver polish in crevices. Lids fit atop jars; smaller one somewhat loosely.
Age: Circa 1900s.
