Item/Description: Original 1948 Italian locandina movie poster for Italy’s release of Citizen Kane "Quarto Potere" (The Fourth Estate) starring and directed by Orson Wells.
In Italy, the American film "Citizen Kane" (1941) was released under the title "Quarto Potere" (The Fourth Estate). This title change, rather than focusing on the character Charles Foster Kane’s personal life, highlights the power of the press and news media, a concept known as the "fourth estate" in European tradition.
